AMERICANA: A Taste of South Pasadena will be held on Sunday, May 20, 2012, 4:00 -- 7:00 p.m. at 1315 Chelten Way, South Pasadena. We will also honor James and Lissa Reynolds for their outstanding contributions to our city.

Go back in time with us and take in the sounds, sights and tastes of South Pasadena. We will feature tastes from your favorite restaurants in South Pasadena and nearby cities. We will enjoy a few sights of long-gone landmarks of our town. Local entertainers including the "Eclectic Coffee House Band" will serenade us while we indulge in a silent auction and a wine pull. A live auction will offer a police helicopter ride, a banquet for eight at the Fire House, dinner for 30(!) at Charlie's Trio, a ladies vintage ring and more. Add a unique collectible to your home from a local artisan.

Tickets available from the "Taste of South Pasadena tickets" link above are $65 per adult or $125 per couple. The proceeds support projects of the Rotary Club of South Pasadena including:

Community grants: the Club recently awarded a total of $5,000 to the South Pasadena Chamber of Commerce, the South Pasadena Library, the El Serno Environmental Science Academy, and the YMCA.
We donated $12,000 to help drill two water wells in Haiti to promote local agriculture.
We support the incredibly successful efforts of Rotary International to eradicate polio world-wide -- totally! Rotary International has spent over $400,000,000 to eradicate polio.
We have begun to support Mending Kids International.
We have purchased wheelchairs for the handicapped in Mexico.
We send four students a year to RYLA -- Rotary Youth Leadership Awards -- a weekend of intense leadership training for high school juniors. The Club also supports a Mideract Club at the Middle School, and is reactivating the Interact effort at South Pasadena High School.
We award scholarships to South Pasadena Hight School seniors.
We recently awarded $1,000 to Pan American Institute, a successful school for underprivileged children in Tijuana.
We join in Corazon/Super Build, a hands-on effort to build low-cost homes in Tecate.
We support the South Pasadena Tournament of Roses, Festival of Balloons, Little League, Senior Center, disaster preparation and more!
